“Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, neither height nor depth, or anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? -Matthew 7:15-16

“Little by little, one travels far.”

J.R.R. Tolkien

Little nudges or promptings from the Holy Spirit are one of the ways God speaks to us.

Sometimes God’s promptings are very faint and menial, like picking up a piece of trash on the side of the road, or helping someone gather up their coins that just dropped on the floor.  Other times, His promptings can be powerful and intense.

There was a point in my life where I was recently prompted by the Holy Spirit. I felt this nudge to send an old high school friend a message on how she was inspirational to me.

At first, I felt funny about it, because I hadn’t talked to her in such a long time, but I just felt this urge to give out some motivation and appreciation to people who inspire me. I’ve also been trying to be more receptive to “nudges” and acting on them, because you never know when someone actually might need to hear a few positive words in their life.

It turned out so good, and it was so fulfilling for me to hear that I actually brought joy to her day. I was literally writing an essay for school, hours before she replied, about how I determine my success through how much I help out the lives of others. Even if it’s just a small touch of happiness in someone else’s day, as long as it was memorable and positive, I am fulfilled. And it turned out to be one of the best compliments she’d ever received.

I felt so accomplished that I took that risk and messaged her out of nowhere.
You may never know how happy it might make the person on the other end.
